· CPS Whistleblower tells Father CPS were wrong with Eleanor’s case
· MP’s 11 questions from secret CPS report ignored

Background
On 4th April 2014 Eleanor de Freitas took her own life just before she was about to face trial for lying about her rape allegation. It took over four years and the threat of legal action to get the secret CPS report that shows their justification for Eleanor's prosecution. Even then the CPS would only release it with a gagging order. Lucy Rigby, then Solicitor General, altered the gagging order so Ben Coleman MP could see this CPS report. On 23rd June 2025, Ben Coleman MP wrote a letter to Ellie Reeves (sister of Chancellor of the Exchequer) current Solicitor General, asking eleven questions from secret CPS report.
Despite chasing by Eleanor’s father, David and Ben Coleman MP over ten months, CPS have refused to answer the eleven questions or provide a copy of revised training to CPS Specialist Rape Prosecutors in January 2025 where they admit they got it wrong with Eleanor. Professor Grace Ononiwu CBE, newly appointed Director General Legal Delivery of CPS is closely involved with CPS commitment to encourage rape reporting. CPS turn a blind eye to eviction of bereaved parents
David de Freitas says
‘We have been waiting over twelve years for the CPS to admit they got it wrong with Eleanor. This revised training and ten-month delay shows the CPS know they got it wrong and are more concerned about their reputation than justice. What hope is there for women who report rape? Has any progress been made by CPS since the ‘Believe Me’ docudrama about rapist black cab driver John Worboys currently on ITV?’
Miranda de Freitas says.
‘We lost our vulnerable, kind, bright, vivacious, generous-hearted, joyful, lively, wonderful, intelligent beautiful young daughter, Eleanor, who had bipolar, because the CPS do not want to understand women with mental health issues who report rape.’
